Barcelona eat local food tours

OCTOBER 30, 2015

Just as the days begin to get shorter and mornings chillier, Barcelona finds a way to mainstream its warm vibes into fall. The fore coming month in the city of Counts is full of activities to enjoy in unique spaces. We provide you here with a curation of 3 great things to do and more. We look forward to have you on board, all the best!

1. Walk along “the sculptors route” and taste some of our favorites

tastingroutebarcelona

Manuel Vazquez Montalban, a renowned local writer on one his best books “Barcelones” encourage the reader to visit Barcelona through iconic Statues. “It’s the history of history and history of taste” he used to say. You start this route by jumping on the Funicular de Montjuic, then walk towards Dante’s square.

The route its long but worth the effort, along the way there are plenty of nice stops to fill your belly and refill your energies. You can find some of our favorites on the above map. For the adventurers, once you reach the end of the route, go inside the University of Barcelona building, visit its gorgeous gardens and continue a foodie adventure through Enric Granados street, you will find a nice variety of mouth watering options.

2. Jazz and food for everyone: 47 Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival in Barcelona

Beyond an amazing concert agenda, this Jazz festival offers a number of parallel activities that will allow you to live Jazz from a different perspective. Here are some of our favorites that are taken place at Gran Hotel Havana.

  • Jazz & Family. Starting at 11.30 every Sunday families with kids can enjoy chocolate and ¨churros¨ and a family friendly Jazz concert from the Big Band de l´Escola de la Concepcio. Tickets can be purchased here.
  • Jazz & Cocktails. Every Friday between 19.30 and 21.00 a live jazz-swing music concert gets mixed with trendy cocktails. Lets the party begin!
  • Dinner & Blues. Only on November 5th, you will have the chance to fuse a tasting menu and live music, a unique experience full of sensations.

3. Free exhibition: Rovira Beleta, beyond Tarantos

Francesc Rovira Beleta, one of the most renowned film directors of Catalan cinema. Oscar-nominated twice and author of the film “Los Tarantos”, portrait the essential character of Barcelona within his films. The exhibition explores his film career through pictures of himself, his shooting pictures and movies.

And last but not least, in case you are walking around the city at around 18.00 on 27 November, please be aware that Barcelona will be celebrating the beginning of the Christmas campaign. This year, the public will observe a combination of sustainable commerce and daily activities.
A great spot to enjoy this spectacle is at Paseo de Gracia, just look up!
