  • Chevron down What should I bring with me?
  • You should bring a camera and a big smile. Barcelona has nice weather all year long, and most of our tours take place in shaded areas. If it looks like rain, we recommend you bring an umbrella.

  • Chevron down I am a compulsive buyer; can I shop during the tour?
  • We recommend allowing time for shopping after the tour ends so you can come back to some of the locations. This allows the group to stay on schedule and ensure that the fresh food that is being prepared for you tastes deliciously good.

    Most shops are open after the tour ends.

  • Chevron down Is there parking available?
  • Parking is available at nearby parking garages:

    • Urgell SL (C/Floridablanca, 121 – two blocks away from meeting point)
    • SABA(C/Comte d’Urgell, 12 – 100 meters from meeting point)
  • Chevron down Are children allowed?
  • Children of all ages, whether walking or in a stroller, are welcome to join. If they are not participating in the food tastings, just let us know once you purchase your ticket and there is no cost associated. Otherwise, please make sure that you purchase a discounted children’s ticket.

  • Chevron down Do we only walk around and sample food?
  • Absolutely not! Barcelona Eat Local Food Tours provides a unique three-hour walking experience that combines architectural sights, neighborhoods, and local history with a culinary insight into the past and present of Catalan cuisine. Imagine walking through charming Barcelona streets, eating our local restaurateurs’ and food merchants’ most delicious products while learning from the locals.

  • Chevron down What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
  • Please be sure and let us know if you or anyone in your group has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we can accommodate your needs.

  • Chevron down Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
  • To maximize your chances of getting the day, time, and the number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website or by calling.

  • Chevron down If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
  • We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time are sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

  • Chevron down Do I need to tip?
  • Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 10%-20%.

  • Chevron down Are bathrooms available during the tour?
  • Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at select food-tasting locations.

  • Chevron down What do we do in case of bad weather?
  • The tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we are able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We advise that you check the weather conditions for the day of your tour and dress appropriately.

  • Chevron down Are tours handicap accessible?
  • Our tours are wheelchair and baby stroller friendly and accessible. We advise you to get in touch with us before purchasing tickets in order to ensure we can accommodate your needs and ensure you enjoy our tour. For guests who are hard of hearing, a written script of the narration is available at the ticket office upon request.

  • At this time, we offer tours in English. If you would like your tour in another language, please send us an e-mail to [email protected] indicating the language requirement and date you would like to take the tour. We will try to accommodate your request.

  • Chevron down Do you support corporate or private events?
  • We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, birthday parties, out of town guests, corporate, conventions, festivals, parades, grand openings, and more). Please check our private tours page for details.
